Doing the era of President Obama, police reform was placed on the table. A committee was put in place many police officer and were not. The question then is what is going to be reformed? During this process the committee developed removing the warrior mindset of police officers and replace it with a service mindset. The warrior mindset, the committee stated was a spirit to conquer, thus is the warrior mindset need in policing ? Well the committee said, "NO". The recommendations was replace that spirit with a "service" ethos.   The committee stated in part these areas of concerns: Excessive Force, Ineffective Internal Affairs Systems, Patterns and trends of misconduct being ignored or not being addressed effectively. Additionally the committee wanted to improve where, Policy Development, Supervision, Training, Discipline. How could policing improve these area including the warrior mindset?    Another concern was the military surplus equipment, given police departments should be stop. The question, why?
