No matter how much you loved your family, you experienced part of their brokenness and experienced brokenness yourself. The temptation for us is to either hold God’s standard for family or diminish it to match our current reality. It’s easy to adjust the standard to make us feel better about our relationship with our spouse, our kids, our in-laws, and our own parents.
