Me and I'm super glad to do the vlogs. I think they know. Me and I'm super glad. Shout out to the band.

Shout out to the band. Me and I'm super glad to do the vlogs. Shout out to the band. Brand home with Sarah and Teneyl.

Sarah, you're laughing. What are you laughing? One more time I wish we were laughing. No.

Miss the Elliot, the rain. You know, that was her very first song that came out. Yeah. And I think it was like in the mid to late 90s.

You don't remember this? I do not. And I would have been of age to be listening. Miss the Elliot, that's who it is.

Okay, stay in the rain. The video was like real futuristic. So you can look up the video and watch it. But she can't stay in the rain.

She would not have liked it in West Tennessee for the past couple of months. Because we've had some rain going on. Very wet spring. Yeah.

And it kind of spilled over a little bit. So into June and we still have some rainy days to look forward to. So, you know, sometimes we get bored when we're stuck in the house. Can't get outside.

And these temperatures. And we are on the heat of the summer. Yeah. So yeah, the rain and the heat are keeping a lot of people inside.

So what do we do on those rainy days or those heat filled hot days where we, it's really not so good. I tell you what we get bored. We get real bored. Yeah.

Because did you know that July is National Anti-Bored a Month? I guess I didn't realize we had an anti-Bored a Month again. I did not either. So why would they choose you live for this though?

So it makes sense. Okay. After the July 4th holiday, if you look at the remaining, like the rest of July and August, or summer months that are lived, there are no holidays. There's no celebrations.

There's, you know, kids are going back to school just depending on where you live, what time of year that is. But there's not a lot going on. Like we've celebrated a lot in the last few months. And now it's just hot.

It's just hot. It's just hot and just rain every now and then just here. Right. That is why it's not boring.

July is national anti-Bored. So I guess, you know, it's interesting to think about this. The national institute of health, they say it in recent years, there's been an increase in both reports of boredom and also greater use of digital media. Now to me that contradicts each other because if we got more digital media to use, we got more stuff to do, which shouldn't be as boring.

Yeah, but I think that it's, people are finding that they're wasting a lot of time. And the things that they're spending the time on scrolling is not satisfying. No, no, most of it is not satisfying to me. Complete anything.

No. You just wasted two hours looking at junk. Yeah. And you don't leave necessarily with a good feeling or anything like that.

So we've got some ideas today. We always talk about things that kids can do projects on a rainy day, things like that. So we're going to talk about some rainy day things that adults can do. And I'm going to throw in heated visor-dates.

Yeah, because here we are. They don't need to be outside. Yes. That's very true.

Yes. Yes. Yes. So the first thing I think about is cleaning something out because I'm stuck inside and there are closets that need to be cleaned out, drawers that need to be cleaned out.

So I make the easy one as a drawer. I'm all kitchen drawer. Does everybody have a junk drawer? We do kitchen.

Okay. I'm just going to add myself here. Okay. Everybody has a drawer in the kitchen that needs attention.

Your bedside table drawer may need attention. One of your clothes drawers may need attention. Pick one. I'm not calling me out on all of that.

Pick one's error. Either one you want to use. So you can do that quickly. Now if you want to be a little more advanced, pick a closet.

And this can be just straightening up the clothes or it could be you weeding out some clothing that you want to donate or maybe some things that have holes in them that need to be taken away. So this is a good day to do that. Yeah. Let's do something good.

Time to do it. Yeah. Well, you know, this is something you would like to do. Plan ahead for things.

So plan ahead and make things easier. If you've got some tommy keel like playing your families meals, get your grocery list together. Yeah. School may be starting in a couple weeks.

Do you have all the clothes they need? Have you bought their supplies? Like make you a list of the things you need to do. Because you don't have to do this anyway.

The girls really don't have to be made anyway, the meal plans that have you made, you're going to have to get your plan together for back to school. If you have school-age children bless you. I don't know. It is.

If you don't have kids you still have things that are coming up. five months from Christmas, you know, and you know, like September, October, you start thinking about all of the holidays. So go ahead and kind of be thinking ahead. Oh, yes, a lot of people shop early.

Yeah. So we don't have any holidays now, but we're gonna have some later. So we're thinking about that. I like to plan my clothing.

You know what I'm saying? I like to think about, okay, what do I have this weekend work? So what clothes am I gonna need? You know, maybe there's some things I need to wash, you know, do laundry.

We can definitely do that. Yeah, go ahead and do that. And, you know, get our office planned. Yeah.

Yeah. And like you mentioned, Christmas list, anytime, you know, think about maybe you've got some new members of the family that you're excited about getting some things for, or, you know, you can even start working on Christmas budgets or the menu. Like, what are you gonna have for Thanksgiving? What are you gonna serve?

You know, for Christmas. Yeah. It's like making my gift happy too. Yeah, it could.

You know, a lot of people put off projects. Yeah. So hey, maybe you've got a knitting project you've been just letting sit there or hey, I want to make some gifts for that Christmas. I'm gonna do my made gifts or I'm just saying, I want to start taking up this craft.

Well, do it. You know, waiting for you're always waiting for the right time. Well, maybe today is the time. Yeah.

And technology might help you on that. You could pull up a DIY something and learn how to do it. So technology can be used in a good way. Digital media is wonderful.

You're listening to us. That is using the airways in a good way. So we're not saying it's a bad thing to do. It's kind of the aimless use of it.

Right. Right. This is an intentional use. If you can find a craft and you can start doing it.

Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. You know, it's also a great time to get the kitchen.

Maybe you wanted to try a recipe for a while. Well, you got nothing but time today. If you got the ingredients for it, I say go. Yeah.

Or even do some of your meal prep. You know, we're big proponents of that. Even like chopping vegetables and freezing them. Putting them back to me and having it ready to go.

You know, making some soups for this fall and having them ready. Putting them in the freezer. So get in the kitchen and spend some time getting ahead or playing in your food. Yeah.

Oh, what would be kind of cool is to make tonight's meal a little more special. Since you're in the house, you got the time. Maybe, you know, find a way to make tonight's meal a little more special instead of pouring the beverages into the regular juice glasses. You know, pouring into maybe the gobletts.

I think so. How long do you need to do that growing up? And we thought it was so fun. You had to do it like candles.

Yes. Just do something. Random night. There you go.

There you go. So I think, you know, you can clean out a kitchen cabinet while you happen to be in there because we all probably have that might be because vice-candy. Or like your night drawer. Yeah.

I'm like, I do not need all this stuff is in here. So there's nothing in the kitchen. You could straighten up, you know, while you're in there as well. Yeah, thinking about that.

Now, think about a room that you might want to freshen up and look up. You could do some planning on that. You know, go online and find new pillows. Maybe your couch is in need of some new pillows.

Maybe just a new candle or a new tablecloth for your dining room table. You know, just things to kind of make your house start thinking about fall. You know, that's my time to think about fall. But you know, there's some of things out.

It's a good time to think, okay, I'm going to be making a transition here in a couple of months. Do I have what I need? Right. I think that's right.

And look at like your, we've got a big blanket basket. So those could probably go online and I could refresh. Yeah. Yeah.

Things like that. Yes. You don't have to spend a lot of money or any money. I know.

No. You know, maybe there's somebody you, there's been on your mind and you're like, you really need to check in on them or drop a note to someone. So, you know, do it. I feel like when people are brought to your mind, that's like a little nudge, you know.

So maybe reach out to somebody you haven't seen in a while or drop by, you know, they're home. Go by and visit check in on them. Yeah, grab, grab, grab, grab them. You know, it's hard, you know, so buy your favorite place to get a cool drink to them.

Yeah. They look like that. It's always a good, good plan to stay connected. So if you're somebody on your mind that you want to go check in on do that.

But if it's right and so hard at your at home and don't want to get out, they're probably at home. They live near you. Yeah, see where they are and talk to them for a little while. Now Sarah, I know what you probably do on rainy days.

You're going to grab a book. They're like, no, they're going to find you a little spot somewhere that's out of the way where nobody can find you. And you're going to just lose yourself in the book. Yes.

And I don't want to be bothered. You're not going to be bored. And yes, so that's your favorite thing to kind of do. Absolutely.

And then on the flip of that, you love the binge. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Not much better than the movie day binge on a rainy or a cheap hot day.

Yeah, I'm going to probably check out a movie I haven't seen or a series that people have been talking about that I haven't spent time watching. I'm going to start on the first couple of episodes and see if it's something that I want to keep going on. Absolutely. It's a good time to do that.

I think too. If you do have other people at home with you, nothing's better than a family game day. Oh, gosh, she's going to make people play board games. I'm a family.

You know what? They like we've done that on vacation. That's the kind of thing we wait until they win. I don't know.

But when I tell we do it, I don't know what the big deal is. But if I said, okay, come on everybody, we're getting ready to play connect or they would absolutely hate me. So when they were little, they'd go, I don't know. I don't know if I could get them together for a game like.

Well, you know, just a game like my daughter, but her friends come over there like like, like, lingerie. It's hilarious. You know, so you can work your screen in. Yeah.

Yeah. You can still have fun. But it's just to be in together and doing something as a family. Yeah.

More group of friends. Yeah, that's true. That's true. So you could get a little workout in, you know, since you're stuck in the house.

But we always say, I don't have time. Yeah. So now's the time. We probably all have some workout DVDs or something that we could dust off.

But now you don't even have to do that. You can just, again, your digital media, you can find so many instructors that you can take their class. If you want to take yoga, you want to take hot yoga, holy yoga, you know, kitten yoga, whatever you're trying to do. There's probably a video for it.

I actually have one off follow. She is like, she does like seven minute walking video or a 10 minute. She's got so many different ones to go again for a little, whatever amount of time you've got. Right.

Yeah. It's free. And I mean, you can just try several, do the beginning and just be, you might find something that you like. Absolutely.

Yeah. It's also, you could do some self care, you know, you could paint your nails or do some skincare. You might just be exhausted and want to take a long luxurious bath and soak, you know, or do a foot soak. There's a lot of options for a little self care.

Yeah. And you know, you probably wouldn't take the time to do that if the weather was pretty, because you'd be trying to get outside or, you know, doing something. Now some people just like to get outside. They like the sound of the rain, the smell of the rain.

They just like the atmosphere. So sit outside in the shelter spot, watch the rain. If it's not raining too hard, you know, get a love one to join you. Is there somebody that would sit outside the view and listen to the rain?

My whole family would sit down on our front porch. We would, well, it is beautiful. Well, it is relaxing and something we would like to smell. Yeah.

It's clean. I don't know. We would do that. And then all these hot days, we wait till the evening.

Yeah. And we generally go out and sit then too. So yeah, I think there's nothing wrong with sitting out enjoying nature. Mother would always raise the windows when it was raining.

Yeah. That's the smell I remember that, you know, it was raining. Oh, she lets the windows up. That's cool.

Yeah, definitely. So, mix of memories on the rainy days and don't celebrate boredom month or whatever it is. Oh, anti boredom. Yeah, so we're against boredom.

Okay. Yeah. We want to do some hobbies, get out and have some fun or catch up on a book you've been wondering. Yeah, because there's nothing to celebrate.

He's already said we're just going to be doing nothing. I mean, some of y'all have to birthday. Yeah. Happy birthday to all the parts you lie and August babies.

Then you'll know, like when it starts in September, it's on. Right. So, thank you all for joining us today in the words of Bob Marley. Now, I know he did on a rainy day.

He did. He can wrote songs. Yeah, he made music. So, and we're glad he did in the words of Bob Marley.

Live the life you love and love the life you live. Take care, everybody.
