I can do it for myself. I'm dancing for normal. We're eating it home with Sarah and to Neil. Sarah, we doing some self-care today.

How we doing with the dancer right now? That is Louis the Child. Are you familiar with his music? No, but I like that one.

I know. He's doing it for himself. He's dancing for no one else. You know I like that part.

Yes. Self-care. So self-care, just a good time to talk about it, because international self-care day. Did you know we had one?

No. It's gonna be Wednesday, though. Well, that's good. This week, the 24.

And we're excited about it, because we need to take care of ourselves better. Especially because yesterday was national self-care day. You didn't even have to go there, but in case any of you celebrated that, you may need to. So, wipe it up this week and take care of yourself.

No, it's always good to stop and do a little self-care. Oh, my. It really is. You can't pull her from an empty cup, friends.

That's right. That means you can't take care of anybody else if you have not paused to take care of yourself. So, there you go. So, we're gonna talk a little bit about resetting.

Not tell you something. And you probably heard this that goes on on social media. All of the social media gurlies are talking about having everything showers. Yes.

Everything spotties. And this is just kind of like when you absolutely just do a complete workup in your shower. OK. Or you completely do everything that you think of related to a spa day.

That means you're gonna have your hair done and facial and massage and pedicure and manicure. Whatever you think of, it's gonna happen. I think I would feel really good after I did that. Oh, I'll definitely do it.

That would be a good self-care day when help my mental health in a good way. Yes. So, we're gonna think of ways that we can reset, not for beauty reasons, which is what the social media girls are doing. We may look better.

But we're looking to improve our mental health. Yes. And that's gonna happen in a lot of different ways. But we want to focus on our mental health today.

OK. So, one of the things that makes me feel really good is when I can catch up with a friend, especially if it's you. Say, I love to catch up with you. I know we have fun days sometimes.

We do because some days, you know, we don't talk to each other and we're going in different directions. We're like, look, I need some spare time. So, you can call a friend, text a friend, inbox a friend, whatever it is that you need to do. You can call it with your friends.

It's important because relationships are so important. And I get to the move in and sometimes I'm going to do the next lecture. So, friends want stuffer. And when you catch up with them, then you realize how much time I've been to the family.

And I'm like, what? What? What did that happen? So, we need to, we need that friend time.

We love our families. But it's very important that we have our friends as well because our friends are like family. Absolutely. And so, you want to spend time catching up with them.

And so, that's one thing we're definitely going to do. I love that idea. Well, the next one I want to share, you know I'm all about and my family is just get outside, you know? Yeah.

I agree. Because the next year, you just, you know, you like going for drive. I do. I like to drive on Sunday days.

Yes. Yes. You know, so that is a way to go outside or just take yourself outside. Like if your kids want to get out and play do that, go work it.

A flower bed, get in your hands and that dirt. I don't know, it just does something to you. It makes you feel good. That does improve a lot of people.

You know, people love to garden or whether you're just putting some flowers in your room. It's an automatic mood lifter. Hey, you know, go to your local park. Take your dog, go for a wall.

I do like to go to the park and hang out when it's beautiful. I hadn't done it in a while. Just sit and watch. Yes.

Yes. People watching is good for my mental health. But nature itself, like it's healing. So, yeah, just get out and get some frick that sun on your face, feel the wind blow, watch the water.

It's going to be really calming. Yes. Now I like to go outside when I'm near an ocean. Yes.

I love to watch the water move. It has to do with the movements that happen. Yeah. I love to watch the water.

It is. So I like to exercise my brain sometimes. I do enjoy time all for my brain. But reading, I know you read.

I do like reading. And that's how you exercise your brain. But any type of puzzles, watching game shows can be a good way to exercise your brain. We don't think about television as exercising your brain, but a lot of it has to do with what you watch on TV.

So if you're going to watch, you know, Jeopardy, you're going to watch your whatever. Yeah, but you know, you need a show where you're having to think of answers. Yeah. And that is a good one.

Again, we'll fortune your solving puzzles. Yes. Anything that's going to make you think a little bit. I think that's a good way to do that.

We all need to do the brain working. Yes. You know, for our creative people, sometimes they just need a piece of paper and a pencil. Like stop and go draw something or paint something or create something or write something that allows you to kind of, you know, get some stuff out of your head or like journaling.

Yes. I had a brain growing up that used to write poetry. And this is, we were in junior high school and she had hundreds of points. Yes.

That's an outlet for our creative and creative people. If they're not able to do those things, it's stressful. So yes, make time to create and encourage your kids to create. Think the phone or device out of their hands to give them a paintbrush.

That could go with the hangout outside thing. Look, when my kids were a little one of their most favorite things to do, well, they liked talk. Oh, I thought they'd say five or five. But this is crazy.

No, we definitely always said talk. But I would give them a bucket of water and a paintbrush and they would paint on the driveway. And it, like, it dries up and it was so fun. Like they loved painting.

Yeah. So it wasn't permanent, but it was just something fun to do. So, yeah. That's something low-cost.

It was very, very well, then I had paint and chalk and all that. So, but it's weird. We could just use it in water and it would evaporate and they'd paint something else. Like it was really fun.

So, this could be creative. It could be creative. And going back to what I love to do outside, watching the sunset and rocks. Oh, I mean.

And I will tell you, I only do this when I'm on vacation. Oh, I do it every day. Because my, the sunset. Literally.

The sunset's in my front yard. Like over the field. So, like. That's all I painted.

You took once, but I thought it was just once that you were out there. No, I'll sit in my rocket chair or on my front porch swing and just watch the sunset. Listen out. You are come over.

It's very calming. It's a good way to get a day. Yes. Because you're taking an extra beauty.

Right. So, I do like nature. Just in a different way than you do. Well, come on over.

Yes. Yes. So, some people, not getting nice to deal. Oh, excuse me.

No, excuse you. A splurge drink. I know where you're going. A splurge drink.

Girl, and you know, I'll take my kids. Sometimes if I pick them up from school, I'll go to a certain restaurant that has deals on drinks after school. Happy hour. Oh, I was in views.

Okay. We're going to Sonic. I'm going to say, but you know, like, we'll splurge. Yeah.

I mean, we can do this. You know, people that know me. They know I like to have a lot of tea. Okay.

That lifts my mood, you know, whether I go to the store and get it, you know, to the place, whether I have it home, make some, anything that you enjoy, just to learn. And color has a lot to do with it. I love to be able to look at what I'm drinking and see different colors. And I think that kind of goes back to what my favorite drinks.

I love like a cranberry juice. I love a grape juice. All of my juices that I love are a deep in color. They are.

I've noticed that about yours. Yes. It's like you're giving yourself a treat. And that's okay to do every now and then.

Yeah, for sure. I think too, go walk. We talked about the one outside. Or if you're a house, you're cleaning up music.

I'm gonna do a dance. Do some yoga. There's so much free stuff online. Do you want the clean in order to dance?

Well, no, I'm just saying when I clean up. Oh, I was gonna say just dance. We're not cleaning right now. We're trying to get mental all three things.

It's time to music on a don't clean. Yeah, just dance. But just, you know, move. Your body thrives on movement.

Yes it does. And it will automatically boost your feelings. You'll feel good. And there's so much free stuff online that you can watch classes and participate in.

So I say, hey, how would you like to do? Yes, definitely move. I think that is a good thing. One thing that helps mental health for me is to get something accomplished for the week ahead.

And I think about meal planning. Because meal planning can be so satisfying. Just sit down with a pencil and a piece of paper. Or go to the notes section of your phone, whatever works for you.

And just put down the days of the week. And then start to think, what am I going to have to eat on those days? You may want to wander over to your refrigerator check what you got, look at your cabinets, and just make a plan for what you're gonna eat. Well, it's gonna be like, I'll allow you to be less stressed as the week arrives.

Because you've already made some decisions about that. And you say how calmly I'm thinking about it. Yes, but no, that is a great thing to get done. Or plan what you're gonna wear for the week.

Go ahead and pull it out. And already if you need to, hang it together, you know, the top of the page, whatever. Gets you on the right foot for moving forward. That's a good plan for sure.

You may just want to kind of veg out. Watch your favorite show. We talked a couple weeks ago about specifically streaming and things like that. But you know, on your self-care day, that's the time to watch.

Yeah, why would you want to watch? And I think you could go in any genre with that. Oh yeah. Comedy if you want to have for.

Sometimes you need to cry. Sometimes you cry. Turn on the note, whatever you need to do. Right, right.

Or that show you were talking about, you want to watch, everybody's talking. That's right. You can catch up then. You'll know what everybody's talking about.

Now, one of the things that, and we kind of hinted at this, is doing a home beauty spa day. So if you don't have the money to go get all the stuff done, you can literally do the things at home that get you ready for next week, okay? You know, your hair, and it could be something as simple as a conditioner. I'm just throwing something out there.

Something that takes a little extra time that you may not have time to do when you're getting ready to go to work. Your nails, you know, pangs your nails, your toes, do some kind of at home facial. You know, even if it's not doing anything, put one of those facial masks on and just walk around and make you feel like you're doing some deep beauty. And if you're really prepping for the week, but it feels like it's just having fun.

And it's even more fun if you got somebody else to do this with. You know, like I can see you and you're little there. Oh, they're Bailey and the. Yeah.

Spa day at home. Yes, you would love that. Yes, yes. You know, it's large.

We talked about splurging on our drink. Maybe splurging on your favorite meal from a restaurant. You don't be like going to the restaurant in a go pick it up. Yeah, you get it delivered.

That's the truth, large. Yes. It's an costume. But if there's something that you haven't made in a while that kind of speaks to you in your family, then do that.

Yeah. Food is love. Food is love. So think about it, including your meal plan.

Maybe you don't have it. They're right the second, but think about it. It's like, don't be delicious. Include it.

Because there are some days I'm like, I'm just not up to cooking. That's right. So maybe my self-care day needs to include that splurge. Yes, exactly.

You know, learning something new is always satisfying. We joke in our friend group about me not being the most crafty. So when I look something up online and learn how to do something, I don't know what something is, I feel accomplishment. And that is really good for your mental health.

Oh, yeah. So if you've been wanting to learn to do, I don't care what it is, you know, when you do that and you're successful, it's going to help. If you don't know what you want to learn, just put in DIY crafts and just start scrolling until you find something that I want to try that. Because that does help with mental health when you're able to learn something.

Learn. We should never stop learning. No, we should. So I've made a couple of these that work and things, but and I know people that do this frequently, but there's things on a vision board.

So you might take the time to make a simplified vision board for maybe what you want to accomplish within the next month. Or like we said, this is kind of the turning point for the year, you know, for what do you want to accomplish the last half of the year? And you know, it sounds good because when we do a vision board and I go on, it's so it doesn't really have an end to it. It's kind of like in the next few years, we want to know we want to be more specific.

But I could see this being helpful. Yeah, a shorter term is like it's vision board and put some goals on there that you know you can accomplish with the right mindset because it's going to go back to just like I said, when you learn something new, it's good for your mental health is your accomplish something. And I guess if you do the vision board and you manifest what's on it, it happens. Then you feel good.

Exactly. Exactly. Got it. I think some organization would build my mental field.

But now look, we're not going to clean up holes in or the whole garage. That's not what we're doing. We're going to organize a small space. Again, we want a victory.

We want to do something that we can complete. So they got to jump drawer. Yeah, one of them. I don't want to talk about it.

I'm just making sure. Okay. Yeah. I'm like the triangle.

Or even tote some stuff around that you need to get out. I'm going to space clear out one space. And again, you'll have that sense of accomplish. It does feel good and it's going to make you want to move on to another thing.

We open up today. We're not going to do that. But yes, do that. Yeah.

And then this is really simple. And it's one we can all do clean up your email inbox. Man, there's so much trash you get. Oh, and you feel overwhelmed.

Man, they'll eat on that crap. Oh, I mean, that's the only thing I feel about it. Really? So you were cleaning out our literal stuff and then you want to clean out our virtual stuff.

So too, because too, you may not even want to check it because there's so much junk and you may miss something that you really need to see. Yeah. So go do a big clean. I have known several people that did this and like unsubscribe to a bunch of stuff.

And they're like, it's so much better. Like I actually look at my email now. Right. That would give you a sense of freedom.

Yeah. Right. Right. Yes, that's a reason.

There's a lot of things we can do to kind of reset and take advantage of international self care day coming up on Wednesday. And doing these things can improve our mental health for the rest of the week or for days ahead, you know, absolutely. And they're not things that need to stop that day, you know, work this stuff into your regular everyday living. I agree.

I think this is a good plan. And we're recovering from national junk food day yesterday. I don't know what our listeners ate that day. But it doesn't matter because we're getting ready to reset on Wednesday and start today.

If you want to go ahead and start today. So thank you all for listening. And in the words of Bob Marley, oh, I bet he has some reset days. Um, everybody needs to.

Yes, I'm sure he did. But he wants you to live the life you love and love the life you live. Don't forget this weekend in Tennessee. Taxary is that right?

Okay. Back to school tax free time. Go get that shopping done. See ya.
