I am not sure what we got going on today, I'm really not sure, take me to the Goodwill, take me thrifting, I don't know, we're waiting on a comeback song from the Savage Narvi store, apparently, I don't know what's going on, I really can't tell you anything about the song, um, Toasters and Moose, okay, I don't know, I guess it's like the randomness found at your local Goodwill, yeah, they're like, look up the video, y'all, just look up, take me thrifting, the guys playing the song, they're in the Goodwill, making the video, so, well, I mean, a lot of people are in the Goodwill, I'm just going to be honest, because, you know, money's been paid, groceries cost a lot, and there's the tariff word thrown around everywhere, but I'll tell you who's leading the pack, the Gen Z and the Millennials, okay, 68% of them, they're already buying used items before there was a talk of tariffs, so this is one thing that we can actually learn from them, so we're going to discuss today, some things that we can buy secondhand, that's, number one, going to save us some money, and number two, it's going to, you know, help us to get a bargain, whether tariff's affected or not, so, we don't save money, we're all about saving money, yes, yes, and here's my disclaimer, you don't have to go to Goodwill for all these things, you can buy them a lot of places, definitely other ways to buy secondhand, yes, yes, yes, so furniture, and furniture is one of those things that, you know, there are a lot of imported furniture items, and people are kind of concerned about that, having tariffs, but, you know, there are a lot of things that people have already purchased, that you can buy from them, if you're on Facebook marketplace, or all these other local real things, the neighbor pages, neighborhood pages, all these types of things, you can get them a fraction of the price, well, and I've actually bought furniture, all these types of things, and I'll paint them and give them a new life, and honestly, like, some of the stuff you find is better made than what you can buy now, you get more than what you can afford, and I have a lot of character, a lot of them do, so it's kind of fun to search for, like, that little unique piece, and give it a new life, yes, that's absolutely true, and, you know, I bought furniture items as well, and you can take a lot of money doing that, but, hey, like I said, they're all over it already, well, I think that's a great one that you and I have both actually already participated in, yes, yes, a lot of people are reselling clothes, and, again, there's a variety of ways to do that, there's even platforms online, oh, yeah, yeah, that you can use, again, when you talk about buying stuff you can't afford, you can use Red Up, and, you know, like I said, Poshmark and all those things, accessories, shoes, yeah, and even just on your own social media pages or whatever, you can definitely, you know, highlight that you're selling, and people, people are going to buy it, so that's an easy way to make a little waste of money and find some deals at the same time, or you can do like these folks and go with the Goodwill, I mean, that is the traditional way of doing it, and aside from Goodwill, there are other thrift stores everywhere, consign shops, places that you can go, and most towns have some type of Goodwill, even if it's not the Goodwill store, like now we're at Bradley, we have one, and people donate, and, I mean, I know all kinds of people shop there and find the coolest little things, you know, but loading the shoes are a big one, yeah, yeah, so electronics, everybody's kind of focused on that, because, you know, phones, you know, this is the season when Apple usually does their thing, I don't know, I'm not hearing anything, but many times we're looking for those things, and so we're kind of worried about those with supply chain issues and all that, so secondhand electronics have always been a thing, you know, people upgrade their phones, they sell their old phones, they do, you know, they're in good condition, sell them, tablets, yes, yes, I've done it, free readers, all those things for sure, or hey, I've upgraded my laptop, nothing's wrong with this one, yeah, we've all seen those new television, I need a bigger TV, maybe I'll see it as well, sell your old ones, so people can pick up a bargain, exactly, yeah, so electronics, that's something that the younger people, they're snatching up, we need to be snatching it up too, along that line, um, appliances, and you and I actually talked about this, yeah, let's go again, we've both done this, we've sold animals online, so like, think about your appliances that still work, you've just upgraded, like refrigerator, washer, dryer, vacuum, um, all carpet cleaners, all that kind of stuff, um, we, this summer, bought a washing machine online, you know, but they, a lot of them still work, have a lot of life in them, but people either are upgrading, you know, or just selling for whatever reason, but you can save a little money, you know, by doing that. You can, and I mean, think about, if tariffs apply to appliances, they're already expensive, so this would be a good way to save some money, is to buy one second hand, now, I went to college, you went to college, I bought some used textbooks, I don't know about you, but when they were available, I purchased used textbooks for some of my classes, um, and so, you know, there's some question whether books are going to include a tariff or not, but even if they don't, there's still going to be other things that affect the publishers and their costs, you know, ink and their printing machines and all these things, so, millennials love buying these books, you know, I know we've got the library that you can go and check things out, but it's not only in the book, and I know you know that. Ah, they only in the book, but a lot of libraries do book sales, where people donate books and they sell them, and it's a fundraiser for the library, a lot of towns even have used bookstores. Yeah, that's true, that's true, and, um, you know, sometimes you can hang out, you know, they have a little area where you can actually hang out and do some reading, but, um, yeah, you know, you can definitely buy some books, um, even sites like Amazon, eBay, things like that, they have used copies of a lot of books.

They do, and I have bought some before on some of those sites that were used, so, there are deals to be had. Yes. Um, girl, you know we see this all the time online, when people have read in their house, or they're getting rid of some stuff like home decor, kitchenware, lighting, accessories, rubs, dishes, oh, and when my friends, the ones that got way more money than I do, when they start reading in their house, I start following them, make them a favorite, so if they start selling stuff, yes, I want to see it. Well, and, like, this is where I think thrift stores would be a great place, because you can find a lot of unique stuff that you're going to find in a big box store anyway, you know, maybe that's a little cleaning or a little loving, but, you know, and what's old does become new again, you know, so looking for items at the thrift store, or at the second hand store, you can find some really cool stuff that can become really unique accents in your home, but it's a great thing to look for, a lot of people you can buy for a deal online, because they want to get rid of it, or they're moving, you know, it's kind of like, well, I mean, I know we still do yard sales and garage sales, but now a lot of it's online.

That's true, yeah, you don't have to get up so early and go out to all these different neighborhoods, but, yeah, tariffs are said to be applied to these things, for example, NASDAQ did an article, and they were reporting that accent decor said it was going to start implementing a 5% tariff, and that was back in June, I don't know if they did or not, but they said they were, and if others follow suit, you know, stock decor is expensive, and then if you add 5% on top of it, it could, you know, be out of budget, so second hand, let's check those out. Most of our big box stores are going to head to other places. Yeah, so check these out. Now, I might not need any outdoor gear, but you might.

I need indoor gear, but, you know, you can save on some of these things, you know, backpacks for hiking, yoga masks, even exercise equipment, because people buy treadmills, and they end up drying clothes on it, or whatever the case is, and then they decide they want to sell it, so fitness is something that you have in mind, you know, you can look for those things, and, you know, millennials, they may choose not to spend money joining gyms, and paying monthly fees, or whatever. If they can pick up a couple of second hand pieces of equipment, you know, they may be able to reach their goals at home. Yeah, I think we should take notes. Yeah, we might need to, because they have resale shops like Play It Again Sports, I like the name of that, like Play It Again, and offer up things like that, they have things that are gently used, so to speak, still in good condition.

Well, I think second hand is going to become the new normal for a lot of people, and there's nothing wrong with it. It's here to stay, you know, and we were on top of this, because a few years ago, we had a thrifter, you know, a major influencer on our show, and she was talking about how she puts things together, and, you know, she goes to the Goodwill, and she loves it. She would hit, like, three, four Goodwill a day, so I don't know if we're going to get to that point, but we definitely, these people think it's all right, but we definitely want to, you know, think about second hand, just if you're trying to save some money, and you know, there's some things that you need to purchase, but you can find almost anything that you use now that works, that looks great, and can meet your need for full price on something. We both sold stuff online.

We sold, we purchased, and, you know, we've had some pretty good experiences at doing both, so just some things to think about as we go forward. See, we've given you some deals that's not even close to Black Friday. We've done good today, so thank you for joining us. It's birthday week for me.

I don't want anything second hand, though. Thank you, dear. I am excited to have another one. Each one's a blessing, in my opinion, so I am very glad.

Yes, thank you. So to all of you out there, have a good week. We'll see you next time. In the words of Bob Marley, live it like you love.

And love it like you love. Bye-bye.
