Bringing home with Sarah and to Neil Sarah in August Hey girls, I know But I'm still hanging on the summer a little while longer. I'm hanging on to it's long as I can't know me So reflecting on summer just a little bit since I guess in September ball wheel officially true I know I feel like we're having like a throwback Thursday on Monday Memory Monday We've done we think about summer things and just moving towards all yes So the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about summer is a vacation Well, yes and no So my son competes on a competitive shoes force team So our vacation was to go to his competitions, so it was it was fun I had a good time, but I haven't had like the week of you know at the beach the mountains whatever Oh the first was in Nashville. Okay. Yes, but we did go to the ramen and do some stuff while we were in Nashville That was fun and then the second time I went to the middle of nowhere, Ohio Shout out our list.

There's an old one so look the weather there was a part of it So no, we had fun. We were with a lot of our really good brands, and so we had a good time. That's right I haven't had a baby at all this long. No, what's your plan?

Vacation well, you know, we're at two different places in life You can vacate any time of the year because you don't have school anytime Like our vacation is kind of involved around school. Yes, I remember middle of July vacation Cooler Yes, so August is national peak Yeah, which is kind of crazy to make is like one of the hottest ones I like being outside, you know, hopefully cooler days are heading our way. So what do you like about me? You know what I love the food, but I want you to inside.

Yeah And I was tense yeah, or like if you go to a pavilion No, I'm all about it. It's usually if you're making you know, it's fun. You get friends over music playing No, some people have a pool, you know, we don't have a pool. We don't either.

So what's the boom? What's gonna be on the grill? Well, I know what most people behind the grill like one of those type of things is Absolutely. Oh hamburgers.

Yeah, actually last week one day last week was national burger day. So national burger day Well, I'm sure I had one August 25th. I had one sometime around me Yeah, I think if you're five the girl most times it's gonna be hamburgers hot dogs. Mm-hmm That's just like classic Americana summer food that is and I love it grill, but let's just eat inside How about I love it, but also with picnic month.

I love like the cold salads and stuff that come along yeah potato salads. Oh, yeah Yeah, I love all of that. Mm-hmm. Yes, man.

I'm getting hungry I'll say Okay, other summer foods what else like you already know the answer my favorite summer food is on my ice cream Oh, yeah, I love how I know I speak right behind that or maybe time. I love love love all the fresh garden vegetables coming in Yeah, you had some stuff this year. Yes, there's nothing better than eating those fresh vegetables that you've grown or you know Bought from a roadside state or the farmer's market like those are my two top things. Okay.

I love the berries I love berries I mean I can just eat them as they are I also love to cook with them during the summer. You love the fruit system. Yes, I do Let's go. Hey, the ice cream in the winter.

You want? Oh, yes. Okay. Have you ever done that?

No, but you could I don't know I just think of summer. I'm like it sounded bust out that ice cream maker. She's a girl. Yeah, it's a year-round favorite.

Oh But there's just I just eat ice cream on time our house, but I don't usually do homemade unless it's summertime I don't know that we've had any ice cream this year. I know I mean, that's almost like You're eating your portion That was on ice cream. Oh, okay. What crazy after that?

Yes. All right. So okay. It's a confession time Oh, what do you keep your thermostat on in the summer?

68 girl is that? Oh, I sleep with battle 68 Even though we got all these notices this year to turn it up I didn't see those notices at times. I didn't turn it up. So yeah, um, yeah, I spent on 68 Yeah, I can do 70, but I got it when I'm sleeping I can't get worse I had about two weeks this summer that my unit didn't work.

So it was closer to 88 That's the worst bad, but they finally got it figured out and so we're back in effect with 68 now in a daytime We're not home or something. I'll jack it up. We're gonna bring it on down We get on to have one of those fancy things where you can like control it from where I'm wearing and set it up I'm sure a lot of people do but we have not entered that room. Yeah Okay, well, I want to ask you about this since we're talking about summer um, you know There's a thing in the passion world for years.

You do not wear white after labor Yeah, and then you can't wear it again until after I think it's Easter or Memorial Day after Easter then you can pull it back out So you go by the room? No, okay, so why does okay? You want to wear when you want to wear it? I have even say my articles about winter white You know like what you want to wear when you want to wear it?

What about you? This is real hard for you to break, you know After labor and you know I've got the right hands My mom is like looking to be disapproving like you know the date. Yeah, she's not a fan of yeah breaking that rule Well, I think it's just been so much. She's looking at you.

Oh, Miss Mary's She does I think where would you want to wear but I totally know where that mine sit because it did like you're like, oh, well Yeah, should I not and then you walk into a room with your white on and you see people whispering you just feel like they're talking about you They're not necessarily but you feel like they're white pants like you've got these white pants on everything can see I'm with you, and it's not a color of the fall per se, you know like it's a warmer But it's your own care if it's on sale. It makes you feel so Very yeah, so another question. Mm-hmm. Do you think you spent too much money on a specific thing?

Yes? Oh, I guess other than that everybody spent too much on gas this year. Um, probably loaded cheese shout out to my loaded tea people But yeah, I think that's probably what I spent too much money on This is our roommate because everything that we did like if we went somewhere was related to the Shooting team, yeah, so but it was money. We saved him had planned to spend yes You know, yes, so maybe food because we might have eaten out a little bit more than we usually do just because our summer was busier than I intended Yeah, and the costs were more you know, I think it's more expensive I'm raining that back in as we switched to September So I do and I you know, they got it.

I don't think I do so well, I mean I have all my kids, but my daughter made the middle school soccer team We've been excited. They've been practicing all summer, you know games are going we started in August Oh, and then my son I refer to this shooting team He's on well their age group they won national champ their national champions and ski which is one of their disciplines Shoot-in so yeah, there were shooters there from all over the country over 30 states for every single day Then we came home with the number one trophy. So you had some good stuff going on this summer. Yes.

Well, I know something you have a heart I've survived it so far But what how we'll bring up summer songs because every year I was thinking about what was the song of the summer and in my mind I guess my my song had a place was that a Beyonce's new album drop Renaissance? That is my girl and she's not had an album out in a while and so I think all of the beehive those Beyonce fans the beehive The beehive and excited for Renaissance because that's out and so their summer music for me. I don't need anything I love it. Well, my daughter introduced me to a song called Sunday Biz She thinks that's a song in the summer and it does have a good dad Think back there are just been some summer songs over the course of your life And that's just when you expect to hear them.

Yeah, well and the Sunday best we were listening to it It does make you like smile and want to go drink some lemonade or something Yeah, that's what you want to summer song to do. You know Beyonce's Renaissance makes you want to dance and think and do all those things So I love it. Yeah, yeah, I love it. Okay.

So you are the summer girl of the two of us What you gonna miss most about this summer? Oh my goodness. I think the color I love summer colors I mean, I like to wear summer colors. I use a summer color nail polish and I love the shoes of summer and all the things Yeah, so they don't have to switch to dark everything Like good morning, it's just bringing it to you.

I don't dress like me I Think I already know mine is like the late alarm because we didn't have school. Oh, like just not that everyday hustle and bustle Which I'm excited that schools back in and all that you know in a new year But there's just a there's just something really great about the Loki summer mornings. Yeah. Yeah, but what are you looking forward to this?

Well, you already know I'm the fall girl of our you probably already got pumpkin something out and some Campbell's burning or something How do you know? I'm sure it's happening. I love a fall candle. Yes.

No cooler temperatures the crisp air You know, I love a pumpkin like my mom and I be like that's like the burn months like September October no Like I love it just all the the fall activities my birthday is in the fall It's like the cold I like the oranges and goals and you know that pallets, you know I love like football all sports and we are outside people and it's been so hot this summer It's been miserable outside so now I can get back outside So you know really like everything. Yeah, I can tell you're just really excited now I mean, I like the cool temperatures. I mean this year and fall. I'm looking forward to give a vacation Yeah, I celebrate my birthday usually for at least a week and that's in fall and early fall and so I um, yeah Like the week fall comes the colors.

Yeah, I barely barely barely barely. Okay, so since you love the burn month Wendy you typically like start wearing a coat. Oh, it's gotta be frigid. I don't I hate having a coat on I do I don't want to wear a coat.

It's gonna be snow on the ground probably for after any sweaters Like, you know, I like my you know sweaters and things like that Yeah, I'm a layer up. I want to drive in my boots, whatever No, I hate driving with a car and I can make it to my car without one on But like with my kids, I'm like, oh, leave home without a coat Well, it's a parrotage. We're parrotting that way. So, but well summer 2022 has been good.

Yes So, you know, it's always good to think about the positive And it's not going yet. No, we still got a few more weeks You can flip flop it right into the fall girl Oh I love it. It has been good and we reflected and so we'll be back in Italy September. That's right So thank you for joining us for this episode in the words of Bob Marley.
