Bringing the Memphonk to Beale Street
from Time Signatures with Jim Ervin
This week on Time Signatures with Jim Ervin, join Erv as he welcomes lead vocalist, Kimberly Dill and Guitarist Jamie Holdren of the band Sister Lucille. This band has taken the worlds of the Blues, Roots, and Soul and turned them on their collective heads to form a completely unique Blues-related genre known as “Mem-Phunk”. From the famed Ryman Auditorium to Beale Street, this band has deep ties to music that crosses generations, and the two are here to talk about the foundations of the band, featuring Kim’s now deceased uncle, the genesis of the band’s iconic name, their 22 month run on the Top 50 Blues-Rock Album chart, their three songs from the album ‘Alive’ that were mainstays on Sirius XM’s B.B. King’s Bluesville, and their 2020 Blues Blast Award or Best Debut CD.
