This fine quartet album was not issued until the early 80's even though it was recorded in June of 1965. Shorter had just left Art Blakey and was with Miles Davis when this was recorded and was in one of his most creative periods both instrumentally and compositionally. Here is Wayne with Herbie Hancock on piano(who was also with Miles), the underrated bassist Cecil McBee and the creative drummer Joe Chambers. It's nice to be able to say that all of these players are alive and well and active in 2007.
