Today's show- which opened with a great clip of Drawn's Together's Judge Fudge, centered around UBC Basketball. The show started with me yacking away and then Casey Archibald and Assistant Coach Vern Knopp of the UBC Thunderbird Men's Basketball Team showed up. We talked about last Friday's loss in Brandon. The defeat snapped the Birds' 33 game regular season Conference winning streak. We also broke down this weekend's big matchup at UVIC. The Brids' are the #6 in the country and UVIC is #9. UBC is 14-1, UVIC 13-2. It will be the second and third matchups of the season between the rivals, with UBC winning the first tilt at War Memorial just before the Christmas Break. First Place in the division will be on the line. Casey was not happy that I made UVIC a 4 point favorite. Keeping things rolling- after playing the Mary Tyler Moore Theme Song, Howard Tsumura from the Vancouver Province joined me, and we broke down the UBC/UVIC Men's Games, what Brandon's wins meant to the Canada West Playoff picture, and many topics about the UBC Basketball Team. Howard agrees with me that a 4 point UVIC spread sounded right and thinks the teams will split the weekend.Next up- after some Scooby Doo music, it was time for Brad Zannon from the UBC Men's Hockey Team to come on the show. Brad had a great weekend getting 4 goals and 1 assist in UBC 's weekend split versus Regina. It was Saturday where Brad really shined, netting 3 goals in the second period in UBC's come from behind 6-4 win against the Cougars. Did I mention Brad was a defencemen? Brad's performance earned him Canada West Men's Hockey Player of the Week. Great to have him on.After that- the star of our show, an interview with Jim Robson was played. It was replayed from our pre game show on Friday Night and was done by myself and Mike Wall. It's about 15 minutes, he's great, and I think it's a pretty cool interview. The sound quality is a little poor as we were having a tough time with our studio computers. After that, it was time for Football Talk. I previewed the Conference Finals matchups and reviewed the Divisional Finals. How did the Chargers lose that game? Seahawks- they had it coming. I've got the Colts and Bears winning this weekend. Thanks for listening, you really don't have anything better to do?
