Broadway to Memphis: The Journey to Finding What Matters | Randy Redd

from The Life Shift | Conversations About Life Before and After · host Matt Gilhooly

In this episode, my friend Randy Redd joins me to discuss his long and winding road through Broadway, film, and television that brought him to find something that brings fire to his heart. We talked about his journey as a writer, musician, actor, singer, and anything New York City needed from him. Randy describes his attempts at escaping the hustle and bustle only to be pulled back. And then, one day, he just knew it was time to make the changes that brought him to where he is now. RANDY REDD is a Writer, Director, Producer, and Actor whose Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include PARADE, RING OF FIRE, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s BY JEEVES, Terrence McNally’s SOME MEN, THE BURNT PART BOYS, Randy Newman’s FAUST, Alain Boublil’s MANHATTAN PARISIENNE, Max Vernon’s THE VIEW UPSTAIRS, and Florida Georgia Line’s MAY WE ALL. Film/TV credits include BEAUTIFUL CREATURES, THE LAST FIVE YEARS, AFTER THE STORM, KINSEY, FROM BROADWAY WITH LOVE (PBS), and The Tony Awards (CBS). His first play, MISSISSIPPI SUGAR, was developed and produced at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. Other original works include AMERICAN TUNE, SONS OF LEVI, ELKIN DAB, TOUCHÉ, Dan Mills’ FICTION IN PHOTOGRAPHS, and a new musical project with Tony Award-winner Levi Kreis.
