Broke, Boycotting & Back Outside Anyway
from Friend Pick Up the Phone Hosted by Iyonce
This week on Friend, Pick Up the Phone, the United States of Embarrassment is officially running on vibes and Klarna payments. We’re breaking down the looming government shutdown, the Black Friday “No-Spend Boycott” that has everybody closing their wallets, and why the economy is in shambles, yet somehow, concert tickets are still selling out. From Brandy & Monica’s reunion tour to Boyz II Men, Toni Braxton, and Haley Williams, we’re talking about why live shows are the new therapy session (even if your rent is due and your seat came from Afterpay). Then we slide into this week’s Am I MAGA Presenting?™ segment, followed by the long-awaited results of the “How do men pee in boxer briefs?” poll. Spoiler: it’s chaotic. And to close, a heartfelt Front Row Tribute to the women, friends, and family who’ve shown up with shade, love, and loyalty . The ones who remind us that no matter how wild the world gets, community is still everything. Because between shutdowns, sold-out shows, and shady aunts, one thing’s for sure… this country stays unserious. 💜💛
