Broken

from The Bounty Bunch Podcast

On this Podcast that explores poetry and how it can help in allowing us to reach out and communicate our feelings, I will be sharing a poem that started my self-publishing journey. 'Broken' is a poem that explores how many of us with depression can feel and how it is masked to the outside world. It looks at how communication is key and how we should never brush over our gut feelings, even if we are told someone is feeling "fine". Trigger warning: This poem does reference suicide and is a mental health poem, which means there are elements within it that may cause some to feel uncomfortable. Listen with a friend or someone you feel safe with, that way if anything does trigger a response you are in a safe space to explore those feelings. This podcast is for those who have or are suffering with mental health difficulties and for those around them too. This could be a good talking point if you are struggling to verbalise your feelings. Share an episode where the poem resonates with you and that can open up a dialogue into how you are feeling too!
