Broncos Defense Falters with 28 Missed Tackles | Denver Broncos News

The Denver Broncos defense collapsed in their opener against the Chiefs, surrendering 247 yards on 28 missed tackles — the most since 2018. Eight different players failed to bring down opponents, and even elite defenders like Patrick Surtain were guilty. Despite solid coverage that held Mahomes under 200 yards, the lack of effort and tackling erased all the good work. Coach Payton called it a “want-to” issue, not just a technique problem, as the team struggles to match the intensity they showed in training camp. With a short week before hosting the Jaguars, the Broncos must regroup fast — because their schedule only gets tougher.
