Broncos Dismiss Offensive Coordinator Joe Lombardi After Playoff Loss

The Denver Broncos have officially dismissed Joe Lombardi from his role as offensive coordinator following a three-season tenure. This coaching overhaul comes in the wake of a disappointing AFC Championship Game loss where the team struggled to produce points or yardage. Despite a statistical rise in offensive rankings over the last few years, head coach Sean Payton decided to sever ties with his longtime colleague to find a more consistent rhythm. The team additionally cleared out several position coaches as part of a broader strategy to reshape the staff. These changes coincide with a league-wide period of coaching transitions and a hopeful financial outlook for Denver’s upcoming offseason spending. Moving forward, the franchise seeks a fresh offensive identity to support their young quarterback and capitalize on a strong defense.
