Broncos Shatter Record in Humiliating Loss | Denver Broncos News

The Denver Broncos delivered a historic stunner in their 2026 opener, losing to the Chiefs 31-10 — the first time in NFL history a team with at least 14 wins the prior season has blown out by 20+ points. Quarterback Bo Nix called it “pitiful,” throwing an interception, fumbling, and finishing with just 131 yards and one TD, while the offense couldn’t crack 20 yards on any play. The defense crumbled, surrendering 222 rushing yards — including a career-high 173 from Kenneth Walker III — exposing gaping holes. This brutal start contrasts sharply with last year’s playoff push, and the Broncos must fix this fast if they hope to bounce back against Jacksonville next Sunday.
