A Bronx high school student has been released from federal custody after almost 10 months in a Pennsylvania ICE facility. Governor Kathy Hochul, Mayor Zohran Mamdani and city immigration advocates welcomed Dylan Contreras Lopez back to NYC at a press conference today. WFUV’s Sonia Weliwitigoda reports. A New York judge ordered City Council employee Rafael Rubio to be deported to Venezuela. Rubio was detained by ICE in January during a routine immigration appointment and has been held without bail since. WFUV’s Siena Reinders reports. New York lawmaker and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called out the Pentagon’s budget request for 200 billion dollars to keep funding the ongoing war with Iran. Earlier today, a senior White House official told the AP anonymously that the request for more funding has been sent.
