Brooke Eden: Finally out and proud as a gay woman in country music, Brooke explains how keeping her true love and sexuality a secret almost killed her.

from Get Real with Caroline Hobby · host Nashville Podcast Network

Brooke is a show stopper. Her voice, her beauty, her heart, she is the full package. She walks me through her life journey… her dream of being a country singer her whole life… how she was living her dream and was making waves on country radio… at the same time she realized she was truly madly deeply insanely in love with a woman, her record rep, Hillary Hoover. Brooke wasn’t sure if she would be accepted in country music as a gay woman so she kept it a secret for years. She developed serious stomach ulcers and was withering away from anxiety and stress. Her doctor said if she didn’t deal with what was plaguing her mind, her body may fail her. That moment Brooke decided to be honest. She wrote a new EP, shot stunning sexy music videos with her girlfriend (now fiancé) and stepped into her truth. Country music and the world has received her with open arms. She just sang Trisha Yearwood’s hit “Shes in love with the boy” with Trisha on the Opry but they changed the lyrics to “she’s in love with the girl.” Brooke is a beacon of light showing the way of how to unapologetically live the life your heart desires.
