W tym odcinku opowiadam o roli jaką odegrały lokalne gildie oraz o ich patronacie artystycznym, wspominam też o najsławniejszym artyście z Revala - Michelu Sittowie, który wykształcenie zdobył w Brugii.  🇬🇧 This time we visit Estonia, but we travel in time to the late Middle Ages and early modern era, which is 15. and 16. century. The city of Reval was a wealthy port town, that was governed by the local guilds. You will learn about local artistic patronage, commissions done in Bruges as well as about the most famous artist from Reval - Michel Sittow. He is considered one of the most important Flemish painters as well! I invited dr Kerttu Palginõmme from the Niguliste Museum to shed some light on the subject of the commission of the The Altarpiece of the Virgin Mary of the Brotherhood of the Black Heads by the Bruges Master of the Legend of St. Lucy.  The episode is part of a special series prepared in cooperation with Flanders in Poland and the Baltic States, dedicated to the Netherlandish and Flemish art, that is present in each of the countries where the Flanders Representative Office is stationed.  Podcast „Otulina o sztuce” is usually in Polish.
