Bruno Caverna: “The way we function in gravity, obscures our wholeness”

from Holy Embodied: ein RefLab-Podcast · host Leela Sutter

With Bruno it’s all about not resisting the fall and recovering our true nature – he says, something is transformed in the way we live in gravity, we all learn how to fight the fall, which is useful to a certain extent. But it obscures the transcendental truth of our eternal fall, much like in Chögyam Trungpa’s saying: “The bad news is you’re falling through the air, nothing to hang on to, no parachute. The good news is there’s no ground.” How does knowing this truth translate into the body, into movement and everyday life? Bruno Caverna has been a mover since his early childhood, studying various disciplines such as Capoeira, Contemporary Dance, Russian Systema and Freediving. Bruno began teaching in 1995 as a capoeira project leader at a psychiatric hospital.
