Brunson Flips Switch in Finals Debut
from New York Knicks News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Jalen Brunson defied the odds, bouncing back from a first-quarter knee injury to drop 30 points—including 13 in the fourth—leading the Knicks to a stunning 105-95 comeback win over the Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Down by 14 in the second half, Brunson flipped a switch, elevating his shooting efficiency under pressure like no other player in the league over the last 30 years. Even Knicks legend Walt Frazier compared his grit and composure to Willis Reed and himself, calling it a historic performance—the most by a Knick in a Finals game since Reed’s legendary 37-point effort in 1970. With a 12-game win streak now in hand, the Knicks chase their first title since Frazier and Reed’s era. Game 2 is Friday night in San Antonio—expect a furious response from the Spurs.
