Brussow still a world class player: Coach
from Rugby Hosted by SABC Sport
Cheetahs flank Heinrich Brussow was named in the Springbok training camp to be held next weekend in Durban which could open the way for Brussow’s return to the national team after three years out of international rugby. Brussow along with Victor Matfield and Schalk Burger were announced in the 36-man training squad along with new faces Sharks centre Sibusiso Sithole, Cheetahs wing Cornal Hendriks and Teboho Mohoje. Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske said Brussow is a world class player who has been special to the Cheetahs……. Drotske admitted that this year’s Super Rugby season has been a frustrating one for his team and that things started going wrong for them from the beginning of the year. The Cheetahs have managed to win only three matches out of the 13 played so far this season with nine losses and a draw……. Drotske though has had his spirits lifted after his team beat the Brumbies 27-21 on Saturday and said that it shows the small margins in the competition if his side could beat a team that was vying for the top of the log. Saturday’s win catapulted the Cheetahs to 12th spot on the log after they had been languishing at the bottom……. With a local derby against the Stormers fast approaching, Drotske said there won’t be a need to motivate his players as they understand that they need to finish this part of the season on a high ahead of the June international break……Journalist: Vata Ngobeni
