Bryan Anderson Independent Journalist

from WPTF Afternoon News

A federal judge has ruled in the election saga between Allison Riggs and Jefferson Griffin with a North Carolina Supreme Court seat on the line. U.S. District Judge Richard Myers has ordered that the State Board of Elections certify results that show Democrat Associate Justice Allison Riggs the winner over Republican challenger Jefferson Griffin — by just 734 votes. Myers, in a 68-page order, agreed with Riggs that carrying out recent decisions by state appeals courts that directed potentially thousands of ballots be removed from the tally would violate the U.S. Constitution. Bryan Anderson, an independent journalist, has followed the ongoing saga between Riggs and Griffin for six months. He joined Jeff Hamlin to discuss the ruling.
