Bryan Woo's Dominant Season Kickoff

Bryan Woo, the Mariners ace, is set to kick off his 2025 season, following a standout 2024 campaign. Despite a pectoral strain, he posted a 2.94 ERA over 186.2 innings, with a 198:36 K:BB ratio, earning his first All-Star nod and fifth in AL Cy Young voting. Woo, now fully recovered, is focused on maintaining consistency in his routine. The starting five, including Woo, Gilbert, Kirby, Castillo, and Miller, have built strong trust over four years. However, Gilbert, Kirby, and Miller all dealt with injuries last season. Woos midseason routine overhaul, along with coaching tweaks, contributed to his impressive performance since August 2024. Club president Jerry Dipoto praises Woos rapid rise from a sixth-round draft pick to AL elite in five years, attributing his success to his sharp mind, grit, and unwavering habits.
