Bryton James of "Young & Restless"

from The Buzz - BuzzWorthy Radio · host The Buzz - BuzzWorthy Radio

For 10 years, Bryton James has been playing the role of Devon Hamilton on CBS Daytime's "The Young and the Restless." The character was first introduced in a foster care storyline in summer 2004, and soon would become a mainstay in the town of Genoa City. Soon becoming a rich socialite with a head on his shoulders, Devon has everything he could possibly ask for. However, he seems to be longing for something that he can't have...or can he?James is involved in one of the hottest love triangles on "Y&R" to date, and fans cannot seem to get enough of Devon and Hilary, better known as "Hevon." James spoke about the popularity of the coupling and why he thinks it works so well:"It's really been amazing. It goes to show, first and foremost, how good the writing has been, and how they developed this story and get it to where it's at. They really did a good job in taking the time, and letting the fans get invested in really caring about Devon and Hilary's feelings for each other. Also, it's classic soap drama with the triangle, the forbidden love with two people that everyone knows that they should be together, but can't. You feel that tension in every single scene, and the writers did an amazing job at creating that. This is the first time I ever had an in-depth, juicy love story. To see fans come out and support how Mishael (Morgan) and I are doing in the story is great."It seemed that we were finally going to get the moment "Hevon" fans were waiting for, when the two were planning to tell Neil about their true feelings. However, that had a minor setback when Neil had an accident which left him blind. What could possibly come happen during the course of the latest Winters family trauma, and could it affect Devon and Hilary's relationship? "I'm not sure how it is going to play out. We've seen fathers and sons share girls on soaps before. We've even seen brothers share women on soaps. It's not the first time this has gone on. Devon had been adopted by Neil, though, when he was a late teenager. They do not have a real history of him as a baby growing up. Neil met Devon as a teen. He is his dad, but in the end of the day, he's not. Who knows if this something big enough to have that come to surface, where it gets dropped that we're not really blood. It will be fun to play."We spoke more with Bryton James about the return Shemar Moore as Malcolm Winters, who is set to appear for two episodes in September, as well as the special tribute episodes for Katherine Chancellor, that begin airing on August 26 (and 27).Follow Bryton James on Twitter: @BrytonEJames.
