BTB Ep 9: Ryan & Evan talk YouTube Red, Kelly Seidel discusses her new EP, Ryan loves Swedish Chef

from Break the Business

Hi Everyone! Dave is out of town for his birthday and so Ryan's musician/songwriter/producer friend Evan is sitting in. They discuss the new YouTube Red subscription service and the big impact it will have on indie artists (basically, if you're an indie artist and you aren't creating heavily on YouTube, NOW is the time). Nashville-based singer/songwriter Kelly Seidel stops by to discuss her new self-titled EP. It is her first major studio project and she offers some great insight on how to create a studio recording. Kelly funded her record the old-fashioned way (by saving money and networking) and hearing her discuss her process is illuminating for indie artists. In the third segment, Ryan and Evan get a little silly by talking about Ryan's crazy fandom for the Swedish Chef, and R & E also play a game show involving famous artists and their Twitter followings. Thanks for listening. Be sure to follow Ryan @ryankair, e-mail the show at [email protected], and subscribe/rate/review the show on iTunes and SoundCloud. You can find out more about Evan's music projects (in addition to being a first-class hugger, he is also a ridiculously-good guitar player) by following @thebigtasty and @jukebluesband.Music Credit: "Static" by Kelly Seidel.
