Buddhism and Identity Politics | 2023
from Ajahn Brahmali Podcast · host Ajahn Brahmali
Identity politics often revolves around the idea that people have fixed identities defined by their race, gender, religion, socio-economic standing, etc. This understanding can sometimes lead to social division and animosity. From a Buddhist point of view, however, it is a mistake. People are ever-changing, especially when one takes account of rebirth. True social harmony and brotherhood emerges from seeing identity as an ever-evolving construct without real essence.Recorded 2023-09-03-This talk by Ajahn Brahmali was recorded and made available for free distribution by the Buddhist Society of Western Australia (BWSA) under the Creative Commons license.
