Bug Fire Grows Across Nevada Mountains | Las Vegas News

A massive wildfire north of Reno, now merged with another blaze, has exploded in size and is just 3% contained as winds whip up to 30 mph. Firefighters battled through the night to shield homes, while evacuees find shelter at a Reno community center. Eight schools across Washoe County are closed today due to the spreading flames, especially as the fire climbs into fuel-rich mountain terrain. The blaze began in Lassen County, California, and crossed into Nevada. Livestock is being cared for at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. Officials urge residents to monitor the live map as containment efforts continue amid dangerous conditions. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
