You can follow her on Instagram @alrinthea THE SONG:“Build Me Up Buttercup" is a song written by Mike d’Abo and Tony Macaulay and released by The Foundations in 1968, with Colin Young singing lead vocals. Young had replaced Clem Curtis in 1968, and this was the first Foundations hit on which he sang. d’Abo was the lead singer of Manfred Mann, and Macaulay was a successful songwriter who also wrote The Foundations hit “Baby Now That I’ve Found You.” “Build Me Up Buttercup" is featured in the 1998 romantic comedy film There’s Something About Mary, the pilot episode "Truth Be Told" from the first season of the ABC TV spy drama series Alias, and in a series of 2020–21 Geico commercials. The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar has a Build Me Up Buttercup shake on its menu. It’s vanilla ice cream blended with Reese’s peanut butter sauce in a chocolate and peanut butter swirled jar with a peanut butter rim rolled in Mini Reese’s Pieces. It is topped with two Reese’s peanut butter cups and Mini Reese’s Pieces and finished with peanut sauce, chocolate sauce, and whipped icing. It won’t let you down.
