Although he has been working under the ‘UX designer’ title for the past six years, he has been developing projects as a graphic designer, ethnographic researcher, and content creator since graduating from the Communication and Media university in Brazil. Besides his role as a UX designer, Mateus also has developed various projects with a focus on social business, empowerment of minorities through designer courses, and acceleration programs to early-stage startups and entrepreneurs. In early 2020 he also became part of the steering committee of Hyper Island’s UX Designer Course, where sometimes he also participates as a lecturer. Of course, like many designers, he also has a few hobbies like hosting a breakfast pop-up restaurant, practicing tea ceremony in Tokyo, where he lives, and most recently learning how to artisanally blow glass.
