DJ Butler is a speculative fiction author whose works have been published by Knopf, WordFire Press, and Baen. While his writing journey arguably started with reading Tolkien at age 7, he’s been writing with intention for the past decade. He quickly landed an agent to push his first book, but little more than a year later was let go and encouraged to try self-publishing. Not only did DJ follow that advice, but he never stopped networking and building his personal brand. Four years after submitting one of his stories to Baen, he got a publishing deal, and he’s been steadily writing and getting published ever since.
