What we don’t realise is that, just as much as we want those people present in our lives, the people around us also expect us to be present in their lives; going through every moment with them in the best way we can. This building and growing with one another requires a lot of grace, patience, forgiveness and accommodation. People have to be willing to be held accountable and be committed to this process of give and take.
