She received a Bachelor's in Health Sciences, administration and management at California State East Bay University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes- Jewish College, a Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Missouri, St. Louis with a dual degree certification as a family nurse practitioner as well as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She completed her nurse practitioner residency training at Places for People, a certified Community Behavioral Health Organization in Saint Louis County. She is an advocate of reducing the stigma associated with the use of mental health services and strives to liberate patients from feelings of defeat when dealing with mental health challenges.
