Building Consistent Habits That Drive Results with Erik Cain

from Make Peace With Food · host Sherry Shaban

Achieving your fitness goals is not about pain to gain. It’s all about building consistent habits and showing up every day. You don’t need to push yourself too hard to get the results. Focus on what your body feels, not the exterior physical looks. Health and fitness are a part of who you’re, and you can't get the results you want if you punish and hate yourself through it and don’t allow yourself to be curious and experiment with the things you enjoy. Reclaiming your health is much easier when you stop putting pressure on yourself and start enjoying your fitness journey. Identify what you enjoy and stick to it until it’s a habit. Once it’s a habit, it’s easier to do the not do.  Don’t overestimate what you need to do to achieve the results you want, and don’t underestimate what little and consistent habits can do for you. Consistency is what drives results, but there has to be a desire. If you are not enjoying, there is no desire, and where there is no desire, there is no consistency.  In this episode of Fall in love with Fitness, Erik Cain shares with me his journey of transformation after struggling with dieting for a very long time. He explains how food became neutral emotionally to him and how you can have a Why that resonates with you to build healthy and consistent habits, enjoy your fitness journey and find your transformation.        What You’ll Learn from this Episode: How to shift your mindset and find consistency in your fitness journey How to build consistent habits with the flexibility to get your transformation  How to drive your how with your Why in health and fitness  How to step into a place of gratitude with your body, craving, and functions  And much more! “It’s your Why that is going to drive the how” – Erik Cain Topics Covered: 00:59 – About Eric's transformation journey  07:01 – Health and fitness are about how we feel, not how we look  09:01 – How consistency drives result and transformation  10:10 – Taking away the emotional side of getting in shape  14:03 – Eric's relationship with food before his transformation Vs. now  17:36 – Stepping into a place of gratitude to find our transformation  21:12 – Listening to your body and focusing on what it needs  27:58 – Shifting your mindset and looking at food as fueling  28:42 – How Eric's typical day looks like around self-care  35:52 – Eric's final words of inspiration 36:40 – How to reach out and connect with Eric Key Takeaways:  Consistency is what drives results, but if there is no desire, there is no consistency.  Rearrange your eating schedule to fit your life rather than rearranging your life to fit your eating.  Intermittent fasting is a game changer. We‘ve cravings because we‘ve conditioned our bodies to have the cravings. Recovery is just as important as any of the workouts you do; give yourself enough time, sleep, and nutrients to recover.  Less is always more  Transformation only comes from a place of love Connect with Erik Cain: Website   Connect with Sherry Shaban: sherryshaban.com Facebook Instagram Twitter Youtube Join me November 25 - December 2, 2023, for the most transformative week of your life at the breathtaking Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, where you will experience the most liberating Exclusive Transformational Wellness Workshop and Retreat on the planet.
