Israel’s war on Gaza last May sparked protest and support for the Palestinian struggle for liberation throughout the world including in the US. The Republicans and Democrats have tried to counter this groundswell of solidarity by demonizing and criminalizing the movement for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS). Many progressive politicians including DSA member Jamaal Bowman bowed to this Zionist pressure, opposed BDS, and voted for military aid to Israel.
