Phil Beecher is the President and CEO of the Wi-SUN Alliance. Since 1997, Phil has played a key role in the development of communications standards including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, IETF, IEEE and cellular and the specification of test plans for a number of Smart Utilities Network standards, including Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Home Energy Management Systems. He is a graduate of the University of Sussex with a degree in Electronic Engineering and holds patents in communications and networking technology. Wi-SUN Alliance is a global association of industry leading companies driving the adoption of interoperable wireless solutions for use in smart utilities and smart cities. Wi-SUN® specifications bring Smart Ubiquitous Networks to service providers, utilities, municipalities/local government and other enterprises, by enabling interoperable, multi-service and secure wireless mesh networks.
