Built to Last — Honor

This Built to Last message draws a careful distinction between respect, which is earned through position, power, or merit, and honor, which is freely given recognition of inherent worth. The striking claim is that God cannot respect us because He is higher on every metric, yet He honors us anyway because He loves us. The teaching works through Abraham and Isaac, Jonah, Noah, Peter, and Mary and Martha to show that God does not require us to understand His commands or agree with them; He desires honor expressed through obedience and trust. A recurring observation is that God never answers a "why" question in Scripture, pointing instead to Job: we lack the perspective to comprehend His ways.
