"Shay" confesses that at the early age of 6 is when she starts seeing herself different in the mirror as she starts to compare herself to others. By the age of 16 the pressure to fit in so intense that she begins making herself throw up.  Family and friends begin to give her the validation that she is "looking great" without knowing that she has stopped eating lunch at school and that she is making trips to the bathroom after forcing herself to eat dinner.  Wanting to be a professional ballerina she continues to do whatever it takes to get the part even though her health is dangerously at risk. She admits to punishing herself by not even drinking water in order to make up for a slight weight gain from the day before of a half of a pound that shows up on the scale.
