Ce livre est une histoire de la Normandie en guerre racontée par sa grand-mère et son père, le tout est mis en contexte grâce à un solide complément iconographique pioché dans les archives des belligérants. Ce récit choral montre que la narration de l’histoire peut s’incarner dans les récits les plus modestes en apparence, que la grande histoire s’éclaire de la petite et vice et versa.
