Bullpen Meltdown Ends Royals’ Hope | Kansas City Royals News

The Royals fell in a heartbreaker to the Diamondbacks, losing 5-4 in extra innings after Craig Kimbrel unraveled in the 10th, surrendering five runs. Despite a late rally that loaded the bases and scored four on a clutch double, the tying run on third proved too much to overcome. Noah Cameron anchored the pitching staff with six strong innings, striking out seven and allowing just three hits, while Nate Pearson shut the door for two innings. The game also featured dramatic unassisted double plays, including one by Nick Loftin in the ninth. With the bullpen faltering despite stellar starts, the Royals face another tough matchup against the D-Backs tomorrow night — hoping to bounce back from this brutal loss.
