Bunking at Camp to Earn His Shot | Spokane News

Junior transfer linebacker Nylan Brown ditched his apartment for the Washington State football complex, bunking down with an air mattress and snacks to soak up every rep and push for playing time. Despite being a backup, his camp performance—marked by strength and football IQ—has coaches taking notice. With 38 tackles and two forced fumbles at Kent State last year, he’s got grit, but needs to tighten up his tackling (14 missed last season). At 6’2” and 246 lbs, he’s built like a bulldog and hungry to improve. Bonus: he played alongside current teammate Kaden Beatty during Kent State’s winless 2024 season—a brutal year that forged their bond and work ethic. Now, Beatty’s stepping into a bigger role as WSU gears up for the high-stakes Apple Cup, comparing the rivalry to his childhood obsession with Ravens-Steelers. Both players are locked in, ready to make history. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
