Dr. Mark Birkholz, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn, Illinois, and author of the article "A Funeral Planning Primer" in the June/July edition of the Lutheran Witness, talks about funerals throughout the ages and how to plan for yours. We all face the reality of death, and it can be emotionally difficult to think about what your own funeral will look like. Rev. Birkholz talks through funerals throughout the ages, like how the early church handled burying the dead, how the Reformation changed how Lutherans practice funerals, how funerals have changed in modern times.
