Bus Hijacking in Co Tyrone | Belfast News

A bus was hijacked in Co Tyrone, starting in Omagh, with the armed suspect forcing all passengers off but keeping the driver on board. The stolen vehicle sped toward Newtownstewart, triggering a high-speed police chase along the A5 that included multiple collisions—including with a police car—and caused property damage. The suspect, believed to be in his thirties, was eventually stopped in Strabane and arrested; one person sustained injuries requiring hospital treatment. Roads in Strabane were temporarily closed as authorities investigate, urging anyone involved in crashes or with video footage to come forward.
