Our bosses or spouses say something or make an expression; we examine our client's body language, then we immediately assign a meaning to these situations. Usually the decision of whether it is a good or bad situation is completely unconscious. Next we assign an emotion to that meaning. Finally we take action based on an unconscious assessment that comes from the movie script we are playing in our head. The transformational point is that we can actively, consciously choose the meaning of each situation. How we choose to react shapes the entire rest of our reality. Does a bad economy cause fear or excitement at all the opportunity for greatness? Does our spouse's expression cause us to get defensive or become more loving?
