Periodically, I will hear someone say, "I believe the bible is just a bunch of things written by men and is not a divine book". The text we will study together is a perfect example of why I believe man is not the inspiration for the bible. If man could have come up with it, they would have not written the verses we will study. My prayer is that you will have the discernment to receive our text today and fight the human tendency with these verses to justify, defend or argue away from it. My friends, if the bible had been inspired from the heart of man, it would elevate man's state and belittle God's power and authority.
