BUTCH CARTER plus IUFB UPDATE w/ MATT WEAVER

from The Hoosier Hysterics Podcast

First, we get the best guy in the business who covers IU Football to give us the latest on Kurtis Rourke and how he predicts IU will finish the season. Peegs.com’s IU Football Guru, Matt Weaver kicks off the pod. Then, he came to Indiana in the wake of the greatest college team(s) of all time and helped lead the program back to prominence after a short rebuild. His career got off to a rough start with a broken foot but when he was full strength in his junior year, he hit the game winning shot to beat Purdue in the 1979 NIT. He followed that up in his senior year when he hit clutch free throws to help lead IU back to the Big Ten championship. After a 6-year playing career in the NBA he turned to coaching his high school alma mater, served as an assistant in both college and the NBA before leading the Toronto Raptors to their first ever winning season and playoff appearance.  He is outspoken and blunt and definitely his own man. His love for Indiana is as real as his relationships with some former teammates and coaches is complicated. But none of that takes away from the fact that he plays a very important part in the story of IU Basketball. He was as clutch as can be and is one of the most overlooked players in the rich history of our beloved Hoosiers. Our guest today is Butch Carter! Oh…sorry…also, Ward had a stroke but didn’t let that stop him from recording this podcast to talk about the thing he loves…IU! That’s a “real fan” if there ever was one.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
