むかし土佐に、とんちの上手なたいさくという人がいました。 たいさくはある日、町で「わしらの山にはブッポウソウという珍しい鳥がいる」と言いふらしたので、 それを聞いたお殿様がたいさくの家の近くの山まで道をつくって出かける事にしました。 しかし、山には野バトしかいません。 怒ったお殿様はたいさくを呼び出しました。 （福娘童話集から読ませていただきました）
