Buttigieg Rebounds in South Carolina | US News

Pete Buttigieg made a triumphant return to South Carolina, where his 2020 presidential bid stumbled—this time, he walked away with standing ovations in Black churches and glowing receptions at historically Black institutions. With rivals like Gavin Newsom and Ro Khanna already eyeing the same battleground, Buttigieg’s weekend of speeches and community visits signals a strategic pivot—but leaders stress that one well-received trip won’t win hearts; sustained investment and authentic engagement are the real tests.
