Camp Crystal Lake.After the 8th entry Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan was negatively recieved by fans/critics and underperformed at the box office, Paramont Pictures decided it was time hang up the Friday The 13th series for good. Luckily, New Line Cinema stepped in and was able to negotiate get rights to the series so they could make more follow-ups (however, Paramont would keep the rights to the F13 title). With the help of the original film's director Sean S.
