By Jesus’ Grace we would have Faith to be Justified

from RHCCC DTM Latest Sermon · host Pastor Jenny Dang

By Jesus’ Grace we would have Faith to be JustifiedScripture: Romans 5:1-11Speaker: Pastor Jenny DangTwo questions:1. What exactly do I believe in?2. Am I confident in my faith in Jesus?1. Human longing and fear of relationship breakdownNow that we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ—Romans 5:1 NIVgentlemen are harmonious but different; villains are harmonious but not harmonious.” (孔子:「君子和而不同,小人同而不和。」—ConfuciusJesus said, “apart from me you can do nothing—John 15:5 NIV2. Our faith in Christ Jesus with graceFor everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.—Romans 3:23-26 NLT3. People experience God’s grace in times of troubleI have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn?—2 Corinthians 11:27-29, NIV“…endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.—Romans 5:4-5, NRSVknowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us.—Romans 5:3b-5a, NRSV
