The Gospel brings us to a hard place. Jesus stands before the Temple, the pride of Jerusalem, and tells his friends that its stones will fall. He isn’t promising destruction. He’s promising clarity. The moment when illusion can no longer stand. Every generation faces its own versions of this collapse: institutions that once held meaning begin to fracture; movements claiming moral authority twist themselves into weapons; religious language becomes camouflage for cruelty. Our task isn’t to panic. It’s to see truth in the falling dust and remember who we are called to be. This episode explores how endurance becomes a spiritual discipline. Not passive waiting, but moral steadiness in a world that invites fear. We look honestly at how faith is co-opted by power, how Christian nationalism mirrors the old imperial scripts, and how Jesus’ words invite us back to living courageously amid the ruins.
